Federal agents executed a search warrant early Friday morning at the Bethesda, Maryland residence of Ambassador John Bolton, who served as National Security Advisor under President Donald Trump from 2018 to 2019. The operation was part of an ongoing federal investigation into the handling of classified documents, according to multiple sources cited by NBC News and the New York Post.

The FBI has not issued an official statement, but Director Kash Patel posted on X shortly after the raid began: “NO ONE is above the law… FBI agents on mission.” The search reportedly began around 7 a.m. and was authorized by a federal magistrate judge.

Bolton, a longtime Republican foreign policy figure, previously served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations under President George W. Bush. He has since become a vocal critic of Trump, particularly after publishing his 2020 memoir The Room Where It Happened, which drew scrutiny over alleged inclusion of classified material. The Trump administration attempted to block its release, citing national security concerns, though the effort ultimately failed.
