London — August 20, 2025
England has confirmed a white-ball tour of Sri Lanka in early 2026, marking a crucial warm-up ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The tour includes:
- 3 ODIs: January 22, 24, and 27
- 3 T20Is: January 30, February 1, and February 3
This will be England’s first white-ball visit to Sri Lanka since 2018, when they won the ODI series 3–1 and clinched the lone T20I. The upcoming matches offer England a chance to acclimate to subcontinental conditions as they aim for a third T20 World Cup title, having previously won in 2009 and 2022.
The last T20I clash between the two sides came during England’s victorious 2022 campaign, where they edged past Sri Lanka by four wickets to secure a semi-final berth.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will prepare with a three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe starting September 6, while England hosts South Africa from September 10 in Cardiff.
