Osaka, Japan – At the Nordic Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hisayuki Fujii, met with Sirið Stenberg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Industry and Trade of the Faroe Islands, following the opening of “Faroe Islands Days.”

Fujii delivered the opening speech, celebrating the Faroe Islands innovation, sustainability and cultural identity. The event marked a vibrant start to the day’s diplomatic engagement.

At 10:20 a.m., the two leaders held a 30-minute meeting, highlighting Stenberg’s first official visit to Japan. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2022 which has paved the way for steady progress across multiple sectors.
