Washington, D.C. In a keynote address at the Museum of the Bible, President Donald J. Trump unveiled the “America Prays” initiative, calling on faith communities across the United States to unite in prayer ahead of the nation’s 250th Independence anniversary.
Trump emphasized the foundational role of religion in American identity, stating, “When faith gets stronger good things happen for our country.” He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to defending religious liberties and restoring the nation’s spiritual roots.
The initiative invites churches, mosques, synagogues, and other faith-based organizations to participate in a year long campaign of prayer for peace, prosperity, and unity. Over 70 religious groups have already pledged support, according to Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner.
Trump also announced upcoming Department of Education guidelines to protect students’ rights to pray in public schools, reinforcing his stance that faith must remain a visible part of American life.
The President’s remarks included criticism of political figures who challenge the idea that rights come from a Creator, and he spotlighted a California student’s experience with curriculum that conflicted with his religious beliefs.
As the nation prepares for its semiquincentennial, “America Prays” aims to reignite spiritual engagement and reaffirm the country’s motto: One Nation Under God.
