Rawalpindi, Funeral prayers for Major Adnan Aslam Shaheed, aged 31 and a resident of Rawalpindi, were held with full military honors at Chaklala Garrison today. The young officer embraced martyrdom while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital, following injuries sustained during a valiant counter-operation against the Indian backed Fitna al Khawarij in Bannu on September 2.

The solemn ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Defence Minister, Information Minister, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir NI(M), HJ, senior military and civil officials, and family members of the Shaheed.

Major Adnan led his men from the front with unwavering resolve, exemplifying the spirit of sacrifice that defines Pakistan’s Armed Forces. In his tribute, the Prime Minister declared, “Today, we bid farewell to a son of the soil whose courage will forever echo in the heart of the nation. He stood for everything Pakistan holds dear honor, duty, and an unbreakable love for the homeland.”

His martyrdom stands as a stark reminder of the Armed Forces’ unyielding commitment to eradicating terrorism in all its forms. Major Adnan will be laid to rest in his hometown, surrounded by the prayers of a grateful nation.
