DeWitt, Governor Kathy Hochul announced the opening of the redesigned Exit 3 ramp on Interstate 481 in the Town of DeWitt, marking a key milestone in the transformative I-81 Viaduct Project.

The new ramp merges two previous exits into a single, streamlined interchange, improving traffic flow and safety for drivers accessing State Routes 5 and 92. It features expanded turning lanes, a simplified layout, and landscaping improvements. A longer northbound on-ramp to I-481 also enhances merging and traffic management.

Governor Hochul emphasized that the project reflects New York’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure and reconnecting communities. The I-81 Viaduct Project is the largest transportation initiative ever undertaken by the New York State Department of Transportation.
