The European Commission has issued a strong condemnation of Russia’s recent military escalation against Ukraine, citing a surge in drone and missile attacks that have targeted civilian infrastructure and violated international norms.

In a solemn statement, the Commission declared:

Russia has shown the full extent of its contempt for diplomacy and international law.”

Over the past month, Ukraine has endured some of the largest-scale aerial assaults since the start of the war, with energy grids, hospitals, and residential areas among the targets. The EU reaffirmed its unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and resilience, pledging continued humanitarian aid, defense assistance, and diplomatic pressure.

EU’s Moral Stand

The Commission emphasized that Europe’s response is not only strategic but deeply moral—defending the principles of peace, territorial integrity, and human dignity. EU leaders are coordinating with NATO and international partners to strengthen sanctions, accelerate military support, and hold Russia accountable for war crimes.

This statement comes amid growing calls across Europe for a unified front against authoritarian aggression and a renewed commitment to democratic values.
