Brussels, The European Union (EU) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have announced a €12 million financial package to strengthen the Tunisia–Europe energy partnership, advancing shared goals in renewable energy, grid integration, and green transition.
The funding will support Tunisia’s efforts to modernize its energy infrastructure and align with EU climate objectives, particularly through the development of interconnected electricity networks and solar energy projects. The initiative is part of the broader Team Europe approach, which promotes strategic cooperation with neighboring regions on sustainability and energy security.
EU and EIB officials emphasized that the partnership reflects a mutual commitment to decarbonization, regional stability, and inclusive growth, while helping Tunisia meet its national climate targets and improve energy access.
This latest investment builds on previous EU–Tunisia collaborations and signals growing momentum toward a Mediterranean Green Corridor, linking North African energy potential with European demand.
