Washington, D.C. President Donald J. Trump has issued a formal message recognizing National Forest Products Week, honoring the vital role America’s forests play in driving economic growth, supporting jobs, and preserving the nation’s natural beauty.

“America’s forests are a source of strength for our economy and a reflection of our Nation’s natural beauty,” the President stated, emphasizing their contribution to hundreds of billions of dollars annually and the millions of jobs they sustain from timber production to community development.

The message highlighted recent policy actions aimed at revitalizing the forest industry, including:

  • Executive Orders to boost domestic timber production
  • Enhanced forest management to reduce wildfire risks
  • Reduced reliance on foreign timber imports
  • Creation of the Make America Beautiful Again Commission to conserve lands and waters, cut red tape, and expand access to public lands

President Trump criticized previous administrations for imposing barriers that “crushed our economy and stifled innovation,” and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to securing the long-term benefits of America’s forests.

“This week, we acknowledge that America’s forests make our country strong—and we renew our pledge to preserve our Nation’s rich resources and bountiful treasures for generations to come,” the message concluded.

National Forest Products Week is observed annually during the third week of October, celebrating the economic, environmental, and cultural importance of forest resources across the United States.
