South Africa’s Government Communication and Information System has announced that media accreditation is now open for the inaugural National Convention, scheduled to take place from 15 to 17 August 2025 at the University of South Africa’s main campus in Pretoria.
The Convention will bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives from government, political parties, civil society, business, labour, traditional and religious leadership, cultural and sports organizations, youth, women, and community groups. It serves as a precursor to the upcoming National Dialogue and aims to establish a shared framework for participation, outlining the roles and responsibilities of all South Africans.
Members of the media are invited to submit their accreditation applications before the deadline on Friday, 08 August 2025 at 12h00.
This announcement reflects the government’s commitment to transparency and inclusive engagement as the country prepares for a pivotal national conversation.
