Pakistan wrapped up a thrilling 2-1 T20I series victory over the West Indies in Florida on Sunday, though celebrations were tempered by the loss of star batter Fakhar Zaman to injury.

Zaman sustained a hamstring issue during the second match in Lauderhill and was ruled out of the final game, where Pakistan edged past the hosts by 13 runs to secure their seventh consecutive T20I series win against the Caribbean side.

The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed Fakhar’s departure from the tour and his absence from the upcoming ODI series, stating, “He will return to Lahore on the evening of August 4 for rehabilitation under the PCB’s medical team at the National Cricket Academy.”

Despite the setback, Pakistan’s squad showcased depth and resilience. Spinner Mohammad Nawaz was named Player of the Series, snatching seven wickets at an average of just 10. He played a pivotal role in the series decider, where five bowlers combined to restrict the West Indies’ chase of Pakistan’s challenging 189/4.

The batting fireworks were led by Sahibzada Farhan (74) and Saim Ayub (66), both notching half-centuries to help their side set a competitive total after being put in to bat by West Indies skipper Shai Hope.

For the hosts, Alick Athanaze (60) and Sherfane Rutherford (51) fought back valiantly, but Pakistan’s experienced attack—featuring Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, and Nawaz—kept their nerves and sealed the win.

The action now shifts to the ODI leg of the tour, with the first of three matches kicking off Friday in Trinidad
