Scotland has officially qualified for the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 following a consistent performance in the Europe Qualifier. The team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and secured their spot by defeating the Netherlands in the final.
In the final match, Scotland posted a total of 237 runs. The Netherlands, in response, reached 108/3 at one stage, with Tom De Leede contributing 67 runs. However, Scotland’s bowlers—Finlay Jones (4/41) and Manu Saraswat (3/43)—helped shift momentum. Ollie Jones dismissed De Leede and later took the final wicket, ending the Netherlands’ innings 20 runs short of the target.
Scotland captain Thomas Knight expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, noting the importance of winning a close match. Finlay Jones also commented on the achievement, highlighting the significance of qualifying for a global tournament.
The ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 will be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia in January.
