Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17 lineup, introducing four distinct models that mark a major leap in design, performance, and display technology. The announcement came during the company’s annual September keynote, branded this year as the “Awe Dropping” event.
The new series includes:
- iPhone 17
- iPhone 17 Pro
- iPhone 17 Pro Max
- And the all new iPhone 17 Air, Apple’s thinnest and lightest smartphone to date
The iPhone 17 Air replaces the previous Plus model and features a 6.6-inch OLED display, a single 48MP rear camera, and a body just 5.5mm thick. Apple claims it’s the most compact full-screen iPhone ever made, designed for users who prioritize portability and minimalist aesthetics.
The Pro models bring a dramatic redesign with a horizontal camera bar, housing three 48MP sensors for advanced photography. Both the Pro and Pro Max are powered by the new A19 Pro chip, offering faster performance, improved thermal management, and support for Wi-Fi 7.
All four models now feature 120Hz ProMotion displays, including the base iPhone 17 a first for non-Pro variants. The standard model also gets a 24MP front-facing camera, a larger 6.3-inch screen, and the new A19 chip for smoother multitasking and better battery efficiency.
Apple’s new iOS 26 ships with the devices, introducing a Liquid Glass interface that transforms icon visuals with translucent effects and dynamic motion. While the AI-powered Siri upgrade wasn’t released today, Apple confirmed that all iPhone 17 models are Apple Intelligence-ready, with up to 12GB RAM on higher-end variants.
Pre-orders begin September 12, with global availability expected from September 19.
