Sullivan County, NY Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the completion of a major infrastructure upgrade at Sullivan County International Airport, marking a milestone in regional economic development and transportation access.
The $18 million project, funded through the Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Initiative, included a full terminal renovation, improved passenger amenities, and enhanced accessibility features. The upgrades aim to attract more visitors to the Catskills region and support local tourism, business, and job growth.
Governor Hochul emphasized the strategic importance of the airport’s transformation: “This project is a gateway to opportunity for Sullivan County and the entire Catskills region. We’re investing in infrastructure that drives economic growth and connects communities.”
The revitalized terminal now features modern design elements, expanded seating, upgraded restrooms, and improved energy efficiency. The project also aligns with New York State’s broader goals of sustainable development and rural connectivity.
