The White House South Lawn transformed into a Halloween wonderland Thursday evening as President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed families for the annual trick-or-treat celebration. The event, a cherished tradition, drew thousands of children dressed as superheroes, animals, astronauts, and fairy tale characters.
A Presidential Welcome
From 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM, the South Lawn was open to ticketholders, including military families, law enforcement personnel, foster and adoptive families, and White House staffers with children. President Trump, wearing a red “USA” cap, and First Lady Melania, dressed in a beige coat, greeted guests and handed out commemorative candies along the South Drive.
The First Lady’s office coordinated the event, which featured autumn-themed decorations on the South Portico, including pumpkins, hay bales, and lanterns. Trick-or-treat booths lined the lawn, offering sweets and photo ops for families.

Entertainment included a performance by the Air Force Band, playing seasonal tunes as children paraded through the grounds.
