Rome, Italy convened a high-level meeting of the Aqaba Process, an international initiative led by Jordan to combat terrorism and violent extremism. The session focused on security challenges in Africa and brought together ministers, intelligence officials, and representatives from global organizations.

Held at the Farnesina, the meeting was co-chaired by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. Participants discussed strategies to counter radicalization, strengthen border security, and enhance cooperation between African and European institutions.

The Aqaba Process, launched in 2015 by King Abdullah II of Jordan, aims to foster global dialogue and operational coordination against terrorism. Italy’s hosting of the event underscores its commitment to international security and its strategic engagement with African partners.
