The visit began with a symbolic send-off at Tokyo Station, where Indian train drivers—currently training with East Japan Railway—greeted the leaders. Traveling together to Sendai via Shinkansen, the two prime ministers held candid discussions on railway innovation, including India’s future in high-speed rail, Japan’s Shinkansen legacy, and the cutting-edge ALFA-X experimental train. They also toured the E5 series driver’s cabin, experiencing speeds of up to 320 km/h.
🍱 Luncheon in Sendai
Prime Minister Ishiba hosted a luncheon in Sendai City, joined by Miyagi Governor Yoshihiro Murai and regional stakeholders. The leaders exchanged views on strengthening Japan–India cooperation, with a focus on local-level partnerships and regional development.

The final stop was Tokyo Electron’s Miyagi plant, where both leaders toured training facilities and received a briefing on the company’s collaboration with India in advanced technology sectors.
