Rimini, August 24 — Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, is set to participate in the 46th edition of the Rimini Meeting, a landmark international gathering known for promoting peace, dialogue, and humanitarian cooperation. This year’s event is expected to draw over 800,000 attendees.

Minister Tajani’s day will begin with attendance at Holy Mass, led by Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, President of the Italian Bishops’ Conference. Later, he will join Monsignor Hanna Jallouf, Apostolic Vicar of Aleppo, for a public dialogue titled “The Presence of the Christian Community in Syria and Religious Freedom.” A press briefing is scheduled for 3:45 PM.

In response to ongoing global challenges, the Italian Foreign Ministry has themed its international pavilion “No Crisis is Distant.” The exhibit highlights Italy’s humanitarian outreach, including emergency interventions by the Crisis Unit and medical support for Palestinian children brought to Italy.

A dedicated space within the pavilion honors Italy’s collaboration with the United Nations on the “Food for Gaza” initiative—launched in March 2024 by Minister Tajani and the World Food Programme (WFP), in partnership with FAO and the Red Cross.

The Farnesina’s presence at the Meeting also includes a cultural showcase: the Farnesina Collection, celebrating its 25th anniversary with selected works from its traveling exhibition “Identity Beyond Borders.”
