A growing chorus of Muslim majority countries has condemned Israel’s recent airstrike in Doha, which targeted senior Hamas leaders and killed six people including a Qatari security officer. The attack carried out in the upscale Leqtaifiya district marks the first known Israeli military operation on Qatari soil and has triggered diplomatic outrage across the Islamic world.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the strike as a “cowardly and criminal act” and a violation of international law. Qatar, a key mediator in Gaza ceasefire negotiations vowed to pursue accountability through international legal channels.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called the bombing a “reckless provocation” and a “dangerous violation of Qatar’s sovereignty.” In a phone call with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Qatar and Palestine.

Saudi Arabia issued a strong statement condemning the “brutal Israeli aggression” and warned of “grave consequences” if such violations continue. The kingdom affirmed its full solidarity with Qatar and called the strike a blatant breach of international norms.

Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry said the attack proves Israel is not interested in peace. “Targeting Hamas negotiators during ceasefire talks shows that Israel has adopted terrorism as a state policy,” the ministry stated.

The United Arab Emirates also voiced support for Doha, calling the strike “treacherous” and affirming that “the security of Arab Gulf states is indivisible”.

Kuwait described the airstrike as “brutal aggression” and a “flagrant violation of the UN Charter,” while Iran labeled it a “gross violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty and warned of regional destabilization.

Iraq’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack as a “cowardly act” and called for a unified Arab response to Israeli military overreach.

The International Union of Muslim Scholars joined the condemnation, calling the strike a “heinous war crime” and urging Islamic nations to take a firm stand against repeated Israeli violations.

As ceasefire negotiations hang in the balance, Qatar has called for an emergency summit of Arab and Islamic leaders to address the crisis and reaffirm regional solidarity.
