Olean, NY New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the successful completion of Olean’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), marking a major milestone in the city’s transformation into a vibrant, walkable, and economically resilient community.

Launched under the state’s broader DRI program, Olean received $10 million in funding to support a series of strategic projects aimed at boosting local business, enhancing public spaces, and attracting residents and visitors to the city’s core.

Key accomplishments include:

  • Renovation of historic buildings and storefronts to preserve architectural heritage and stimulate commerce
  • Streetscape improvements, including pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, lighting, and landscaping
  • Creation of new housing units and mixed-use developments to support urban living
  • Upgrades to public amenities, such as parks, cultural venues, and transportation hubs

Governor Hochul praised the city’s leadership and community engagement, stating, “Olean’s revitalization is a testament to what’s possible when local vision meets state support.
