The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) solemnly commemorated Martyrs’ Day across all bases nationwide, paying tribute to the brave souls who laid down their lives in defence of the country.
The day began with Quran Khawani and special prayers, offered in remembrance of the martyrs of the 1965 and 1971 wars, as well as those who have made the ultimate sacrifice since Pakistan’s inception.
A central ceremony was held at Air Headquarters in Islamabad, where Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, presided as Chief Guest. In his address, he reflected on the enduring legacy of courage, sacrifice, and professionalism that defines the PAF.
“Martyrs’ Day is a solemn reminder of the extraordinary bravery and unwavering commitment of our Armed Forces,” he stated. “Our recent operational successes in Marka-e-Haq and Bunyan-um-Marsoos reaffirm our resolve to defend the aerial frontiers of our homeland.”
The Air Chief paid heartfelt homage to the fallen heroes, acknowledging their sacrifices as a guiding light for future generations. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming support for their legitimate struggle for self-determination.
In closing, he reiterated the PAF’s strategic focus on emerging domains including space, cyber warfare, electronic defence, and indigenous production, emphasizing the force’s commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
The ceremony concluded with a floral wreath laid at the Martyrs’ Monument, followed by Fateha for the departed souls.
