As Indonesia marks its 80th Independence Day, the United States has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with one of its key Indo-Pacific partners.
In a formal statement, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio extended warm congratulations to the people of Indonesia, celebrating the nation’s journey toward democratic resilience and regional leadership. “We honor Indonesia’s enduring spirit and its shared commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” Rubio noted.
The message highlighted areas of growing collaboration, including energy, trade, digital innovation, and regional security. The U.S. also expressed its intent to work closely with the Prabowo administration to foster inclusive prosperity and mutual growth.
This year also marks 76 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations. The statement emphasized the strength of this partnership and the shared values that continue to shape their engagement on global challenges.
