Washington, D.C. — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has extended warm congratulations to the people of Slovakia on the occasion of their Constitution Day, marking over three decades of Slovak independence and bilateral cooperation.

In his statement, Secretary Rubio highlighted Slovakia’s growing defense and diplomatic ties with the United States, including its investment in next-generation F-16 fighter jets, its active State Partnership with Indiana, and its commitment to NATO’s defense spending benchmarks. These efforts, he noted, contribute to a stronger, more unified Europe capable of safeguarding peace and freedom.

Rubio also emphasized the expanding U.S.–Slovak economic relationship, citing progress in civil-nuclear collaboration, energy cooperation, and transatlantic trade. He praised Slovakia’s role in securing sovereign borders and advancing shared goals of prosperity and collective security.

“Congratulations to the people of Slovakia on this important day,” Rubio stated. “We look forward to continued cooperation that strengthens our mutual interests and global stability.”
