At the APEC Digital and AI Ministerial Meeting in Incheon, Korea, Director Michael Kratsios delivered a powerful message on behalf of the United States, emphasizing the country’s commitment to accelerating AI innovation and strengthening international partnerships.

Kratsios highlighted President Trump’s recently unveiled AI Action Plan, which includes:

  • Banning government use of ideologically biased AI models
  • Fast-tracking construction of data centers and power infrastructure
  • Promoting exports of full-stack American AI technologies to allies

Drawing parallels to the Space Race, Kratsios described the current AI race as a defining moment for global leadership and technological progress. He stressed that AI should be a tool for diplomacy, prosperity, and shared growth—not division.

The U.S. aims to lead not only in innovation but also in shaping the ethical and strategic future of AI worldwide.
