New York, The United Nations has kicked off Global Goals Week 2025, a high-impact campaign aimed at reigniting momentum toward the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) amid growing global challenges.
UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed led the launch, calling on governments, civil society, businesses, and youth to “turn promises into progress.” She emphasized that while the world is off track on many SDG targets, there is still time to course-correct through bold leadership, inclusive policies, and grassroots innovation.
Global Goals Week features a series of events, dialogues, and campaigns across continents, spotlighting urgent issues such as poverty, climate change, gender equality, education, and health equity. The initiative also amplifies voices from the Global South and promotes cross-sector partnerships to drive measurable impact.
Mohammed urged stakeholders to treat the SDGs not as distant ideals but as daily imperatives, stressing that “every action counts” in building a more just, resilient, and sustainable world.
